Freight train collides with semi-truck on 271

On May 21, at 1:50 p.m., Pittsburg Police Officers responded to the 200 block of N Greer Blvd in reference to a motor vehicle crash. According to the investigating officer’s initial report, a 2016 Freightliner operated by Gerald Newton, 52, was traveling southbound and was struck by a Kansas City Steel train. God’s Closet announces changes, thanks donors

Beginning March, God’s Closet switched to a drive-thru food pantry to reduce the COVID risk for everyone involved. Camp County residents, employees that work in Camp County, & current NTCC Students that need food are invited to the drive-thru food pantry. The drive-thru pantry is the 1st & 3rd Monday of every month from 8:30 to 10:00 am at Emmanuel Baptist Church (June 1st & 15th, Jul 6th & 20th), enter the Emmanuel Baptist Church parking lot from the Eastside entrance facing Broach Park. Also, on the 1st Monday of each month Senior Citizen’s Boxes will be distributed.
