John J. Swaim

John J. Swaim, 81, of Longview, Texas, passed away on July 11th. He was born on November 4th, 1941 in Ashland, Kansas, and grew up ranching with his family in Coldwater, Kansas. He later moved to Pittsburg, Texas where he raised cattle and hogs before working in hauling travel trailers until retirement. He had a love for old westerns and always dressed his best with ironed handkerchiefs and bolo ties. At heart, he was a cowboy.

John is survived by his daughter Bonnie Swaim, granddaughter Elizabeth Austin, grandson Angus Johnson, brother Robert Swaim, and sister Faren Baldwin.

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Ethel Swaim, daughter Sheryl Johnson and son John K. Swaim.

John requested no funeral or memorial service. Instead, he wished for his ashes to be spread in Coldwater, Kansas.
