Mr. James C. (J.C.)

Rozell, 88, of Pittsburg, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024, in Mt. Pleasant. He was born May 29, 1935, to John Wesley and Bertie Allen Rozell in Franklin County. He married Leona Brenner Rozell on June 13, 1954. They were married for sixty- four years before her death in 2018. He was a roughneck in the oil fields of east Texas in his early years and later became a respected home builder in the community. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

J.C. is survived by his daughters, Trudi Parker and husband Tim of Pittsburg, Kelly Crandall and husband Stan of Mt. Pleasant, and Kristine Dugosh and husband James of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Amy Stubblefield and husband Dorey, Matthew Parker and wife Megan, Cassie Pearson and husband Aaron, Phillip Crandall and wife Annie, Danny Crandall and wife Gabby, Amanda Cockrell and husband Cody, Luke Dugosh and Kristopher Dugosh; twenty-six great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Leona, and seven siblings.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Pittsburg with Bro. Tim Parker officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery in Franklin County. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Family will receive friends Friday, March 1, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
