Cora Mae Lockaby McLeroy

Cora Mae Lockaby McLeroy was born on April 14, 1937, in Mount Pleasant TX to parents Jacob Andrew and Bessie Mary Lockaby. She went home to be with the Lord on Saturday September 16, 2023.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 4 sisters, her husband Johnny McLeroy, son Anthony McLeroy, and great grandsons Tristan McLeroy and Christian Neighbours.

She is survived by her sons and daughters in law Johnny Paul and Sandra McLeroy, Ricky and Cindy Mc-Leroy; grandchildren Amanda and Brad Penny, Rhonda and Matt Dunn, Kimberly and James Johnson, and Jacob and Kara McLeroy; great grandchildren Matthew Sandison, Grace Neighbours, Victoria McLeroy Penny, Maci McLeroy Penny, Charlee Dunn , Kennedee Dunn, Birdie Dunn, Willow Dunn, and Elizabeth Johnson as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Cora Mae was a devoted Christian, and lived her life to serve the Lord, her family and community. She was a wonderful homemaker and kept many children in her home during her life. She was the best mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt anyone could have ever hoped for, as well as a loyal friend. We know that there is a glorious reunion as her loved ones who went before her welcomed her into heaven on Saturday afternoon.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at the Bates Cooper Sloan Funeral Home with services to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held in the Old Union Cemetery.
